What We Do

Canada Diagnostic Centres

There are no waitlists for patients at Canada Diagnostic Centres, located in Vancouver. Our state-of-the-art equipment offers a variety of diagnostic and preventative MRI, CT and Ultrasound Scans. After the diagnostic screening, a written report will be generated within one business day by one of our fellowship-trained radiologists.

Our MRI, CT and Ultrasound equipment provides extremely specialized diagnostic imaging that can help doctors diagnose problems such as different types of cancers, cardiovascular disease, musculoskeletal disorders, infectious diseases and problems resulting from injury.

MRI scans use a powerful magnet, radio waves and a computer to produce detailed images of soft tissue and bony structures in the body such as the brain, head, spine, joints, abdomen, blood vessels (angiography) and reproductive organs. MRI scans do not use any radiation.

Computed Tomography (CT)—sometimes called a CAT scan or CT scan — uses special x-ray equipment to produce various cross-sectional images of the inside of the body and a computer to join them together. CT scans are used for screening of medical problems like coronary artery disease, lung cancer, gall and kidney stones, and colon cancer (virtual colonoscopy). A CT scan can also detect bone problems like fractures and osteoarthritis, organ problems, and tumours, all while provide greater clarity than conventional x-ray exams.

Ultrasound imaging is a procedure that produces pictures of the inside of the body using high-frequency sound waves. Because ultrasound images are always captured in real-time, they will show the structure and movement of the body's internal organs, as well as blood flowing through blood vessels. Doppler ultrasound is a special technique that uses a computer to evaluate blood as it flows through a blood vessel, including the major arteries in the body and veins in the abdomen, legs, arms, and neck.

Like any medical procedure, each type of imaging scan and screening exam has strengths and weaknesses. The best type of screening exam depends on many factors, including your past medical history, disease symptoms and results of previous exams. All exam requests are reviewed by our team of radiologists before they are booked to ensure that every one of our patients gets the right exam for all the right reasons.

Our private centre is accredited by the Diagnostic Accreditation Program (DAP) of British Columbia.
